The Tigers completely dominated possession and field position spending most of the early minutes on the attack in the Milford end. The Eagles struggled to get the ball clear and across midfield.

After taking the two-goal lead early, the Loveland defense finally faced an Eagle attack. Tiger keeper Eva Dudeck made two outstanding saves back-to-back after Milford sent a crossing pass from her right side creating a good scoring chance.

Dudeck fended off the first shot, and somehow managed to cover the second rebound shot keeping the Eagles from scoring. It would have made it 2-1 at the time. Following a flurry of offense from the Eagles, the Tigers returned to their dominating ways possessing the ball and attacking in the Milford end getting several shots. What turned out to be the final Loveland goal came in the 25th minute of play with still 15:46 remaining in the half giving the Tigers a three-goal lead they would never relinquish.

Milford did mount an offensive attack late in the half creating a scoring chance, but Tiger keeper Eva Dudeck was again up to the task making her third save of the match.
