Steve Kovacs shares the story of his love for antique maps

By Chuck Gibson (Presentation of Loveland Beacon Digital Media)

LOVELAND, OH (February 19, 2024) – He calls it “World On Paper”, but Steve Kovacs’ passion for antique maps reveals some of his own history, his own travels, and tells a story with geography.

Steve Kovacs visits with Loveland Beacon Talks to share the story of the man and the Antique Maps business behind the daily feature known as Fun with Maps.

His story begins in his birthplace of Hungary, then takes us to the Commonwealth of Kentucky in time to begin high school and move on to college. Steve Kovacs weaves a tale of geography and history and a personal fascination with maps; antique maps to be precise. Along the way, he found a home and a wife in Kentucky before making his mark in research and development (R&D) for P&G.

Steve ranks as 44th longest tenured among some 5,000 or more employees to serve in that department during the history of Procter & Gamble. Not bad, not bad at all. Then came “retirement” and the opportunity to start his own small business. World on Paper is his antique maps business where he buys, sells and even collects a few maps.
