Loveland continued their winning ways on their trek to the Intermediate 50/70 Little League World Series after having won the Ohio State Champions title. They will play their second Regional Tournament game at 7:30 p.m EDT (Cincinnati Time) 6:30 p.m. CT (Local Iowa time) today, Monday, July 17, 2023 against the well-rested Nebraska team who enjoyed the first-round bye on Sunday.
Coach Carr breaks it all down on
The big news is the hard fought win by Loveland Sunday. Battling in a scoreless duel through the first two innings, Coach Carr called upon his offense to play some “small ball” which resulted in the team scoring the first two runs of the game. Those were the only two runs they needed. Starting pitcher Pokey Krause kept Wisconsin off balance with a combination of strikeouts and outstanding defense from his fielders before allowing the only Wisconsin run in the sixth inning. Wisconsin threated to plate the tying run, but a strong defensive play cut down the potential tying run and Krause finished off a complete game win within the Little League pitch count limits.
Again, the team plays this evening (7:30 p.m. EDT) in second round action against a very good Nebraska team as they continue the journey in Intermediate 50/70 Central Region Tournament Little League World Series competition in Ankeny, Iowa.
