$1,000 scholarship presented to

LOVELAND, OH (June 20, 2024) – The Loveland Police Officers’ Association (LPOA) together with the Loveland Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association (LCPAAA) presented the scholarship to Katherine Watson during their meeting June 6th.

Watson is a 2023 graduate of Loveland High School currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Sociology Pre-law at Ohio University. She just completed her first year of studies there. The LPOA and LCPAAA award this scholarship annually to one qualified applicant pursuing Ohio Peace Officer certification training or a Bachelor’s Degree in criminal justice or a related field.

The Scholarship Committee reviews all applicants’ transcripts, essays, letters of recommendation, and a video introduction to get to know them in areas such as good citizenship, community service, volunteerism, and academic activities, as well as their future educational plans.

In a statement released by Holly Hines on behalf of LCPAAA and as Chair of the Scholarship Committee they praised Katherine Watson as “one candidate who stood out this year” citing her studies at Ohio University in the field of Sociology Pre-law.
