Tim Butler, now former Loveland Councilman (Provided)

As reported here on Loveland Beacon late this afternoon, Tim Butler has confimed his resignation from Loveland City Council. He snet a letter of resignation to Clerk of Council Misty Brents at approximately 5 p.m. today. That letter was read at 7 p.m. this evening during the scheduled Loveland Council meeting at City Hall.

Here is the complete text of his letter of resignation:

The demands of a full-time job, a family business, and the responsibilities of a Member of City Council have proven to be taxing on my physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional health. As a cancer survivor with ongoing medical after-effects, I have made the difficult decision that something has to be sacrificed.

I regretfully advise you that effective May 9, 2022, at 5:00 pm, I am resigning my position on Loveland City Council. I make this decision after much prayer, consideration, and consultation with my family and those whose judgment and advice I trust.

To those in the community who would seek to blame the remaining members of City Council, I can assure you that I do not blame them, and they are not responsible for my decision to resign. This decision comes as a result of my personal situation, as well as my own mistakes and actions.

I want to thank our citizens who have supported me during my years on Council. I wish continued success and all of God’s Blessings on the City of Loveland, her citizens and Council.
