The first NFL Pro Bowl was held 70 years ago today in the LA Coliseum. The AFC all-stars won on that day 28-27.
The first 21 games were held in Los Angeles before moving to Honolulu for the next 30.
The LA Coliseum was commissioned in 1921 as a memorial to the Los Angeles Veterans of the First World War. It hosted the Summer Olympics twice, and will do so again in 2028.
Here is the LA Planning Commission’s master plan of the freeway system from 1953.
