HUNGRY?
Today is World Food Day, sponsored by the United Nations. It is recognized and celebrated by 150 nations currently.
It was conceived in 1979 at the suggestion of the Hungarian Agriculture Minister, Dr. Romany Pal.
Each year there is different theme. In 2020 the theme is “Grow, Nourish, Sustain. Together.”
This simple double hemisphere map from 1804 is by Russell. The last continent to be mapped, Antarctica, is not yet shown in this map.
