Four Braves qualify to advance

INDIAN HILL, OH (February 17, 2022) – The Indian Hill School District congratulates the Indian Hill High School Competitive Writing Team after participating in the JustWrite regional tournament held near Columbus on Saturday, January 22.

 Four Braves have qualified to advance to the JustWrite state competition, one student – Grace Zhou – earning first place within her division.

“Our students competed against 10 other high schools and more than 100 students from central and southwest Ohio during the JustWrite Dublin Coffman regional tournament,” said Indian Hill High School teacher Tom Millard, who mentors the Competitive Writing Team. “We are incredibly proud of all five of our students who participated, and we will be cheering our state contenders on for the next round!

The four students advancing to state participated in two different divisions. In Division 1 (freshmen and sophomores), Grace Zhou placed first and Lillie Waltz placed fifth. For Division 2 (juniors and seniors), Elsa Zhou placed 14th, and Hannah Kremer placed 15th.

The state competition will be held in Findlay, Ohio this May.
