Four Braves prepare for virtual competition March 25

INDIAN HILL, OH (March 19, 2021) –  Four Indian Hill Middle School (IHMS)students earned a spot to compete at the state level of MATHCOUNTS virtually March 25. They are: Lillian Liu, Arjun Velayutham, Rohit Raman, and Rahul Raman.

“MATHCOUNTS looked very different this year compared to past years, and our mathletes met this new challenge with grace and excellence; I am so proud,” said Indian Hill Middle School Teacher Jessica Brown, who mentors the MATHCOUNTS students. “From their bravery in competing at the school level all the way to state, these math rock stars have shown true determination and perseverance.”

The IHMS mathletes competed in the Chapter MATHCOUNTS Competition and moved onto the Chapter Invitational.

Based on their scores at the Chapter Invitational, all four students placed to participate in the state competition. The state competition is comprised of the top five competitors from each chapter and then the next highest 10 scoring competitors in the state.

The MATHCOUNTS Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that reaches students in grades 6-8 in all US states and territories with 3 extracurricular math programs. More than a quarter million students participate in our programs or use our resources each year.
