INDIAN HILL, OH (May 13, 2021) – Indian Hill High School (IHHS) proudly announced the IHHS Moot Court team of Avery Valz, Gulirano Almuratova, and Ashwini Krishnan earned second place in the Ohio Moot Court State Championship tournament held virtually by the Ohio Center for Law-Related Education (OCLRE) Friday, May 7.
“This marks the first time ever that one school has played for both the Mock Trial State Championship and the Moot Court State Championship in the same year!” said Steve Reger, Indian Hill High School teacher and Mock Trial and Moot Court advisor.
Indian Hill High School’s Mock Trial and Moot Court program has won seven state championships and three state runners-up awards. According to the OCLRE website, Moot Court focuses on the appellate court process and is designed to provide students the opportunity to present a simulated oral argument and respond to questions posed by a panel of volunteer judges.
