LOVELAND, OH (May 13, 2024) – Indianapolis did not produce the results Evagoras Papasavvas was looking for this past weekend at the Racing Capital of the World – Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Loveland Beacon was trackside for all the qualifying and racing of the USF-2000 Indianapolis Grand Prix Races Friday and Saturday, May 10-11 with the Jay Howard Driver Development team driver Evagoras Papasavvas. It was a 4th place finish in race number one on Friday afternoon -just off the podium and breaking a streak of five consecutive podium finishes to open the 2024 racing season for Evagoras. It was still good enough to gain points and close the gap in the driver championship standings as he maintained a strong hold on second place.

With high hopes for a better result Saturday morning, Evagoras moved up quickly from his number 7 starting position to the fifth position when trouble struck in turn #1. He and another driver made contact going through the turn causing damage to the wing on Evagoras’ car. With the damage and ultimately a loss of power, he had to retire the lap after 11 laps for a 19th position finish.
