Conley, who played college baseball at Texas Tech after high school, was selected in the fourth round by the Braves as the 126th overall pick in the 2021 MLB Draft. Waddell, played his college baseball at Georgia Tech was the Braves next choice going to Atlanta as their fifth round pick and the 157th overall pick of the MLB Draft.

It is interesting to note both players are listed as a shortstop. While Tiger teammates at Loveland High School, the two formed a keystone combination with Waddell at shortstop and Conley at second base. We can all look forward to following the professional baseball careers of these two local athletes.
Congratulations Luke Waddell and Cal Conley.
Good luck in all your future baseball days.
NOTE: Loveland Beacon is reaching out to both Luke Waddell and Cal Conley to get their personal reaction to taking the next step toward a major league baseball career. Story will follow.
