Superintendent Candidates to Meet Community

During Virtual Event


LOVELAND, OH (May 12, 2021) – The Loveland City Schools Board of Education announced three finalists in their superintendent search.

Community engagement with the candidates will help shape the Board’s decision for the next district leader.

“We have worked with our search firm C.F Educational Solutions, to bring in the best candidates,” said LCSD Board President Dr. Kathryn Lorenz. “This process includes soliciting feedback from students, parents, staff, and community members and we are confident that any one of these three will make a great Loveland Schools Superintendent.” 

The finalists are Michael Broadwater, currently Assistant Superintendent at Forest Hills School District, Eugene Thomas, Ed. D, currently Superintendent of Lowellville Local Schools in Lowellville, OH, and Brad Lovell, currently with the Hamilton County ESC and a member of the Lakota Local Schools Board.

“Each of these candidates impressed the Board and our Community Advisory Group with their unique strengths and potential,” said Kevin Dougherty, BOE Vice President. “We appreciate the community’s involvement in helping reach this exciting stage of the selection process.” 

The community is invited to a Virtual Community Engagement Session on Tuesday, May 18 at 6 pm. Each of the candidates will speak to the community individually. We would like our community members to submit questions for the candidates, please submit questions here. There will also be a process for gathering insight during the engagement session.

“We are excited to get feedback to help inform this decision-making process,” Dr. Lorenz said. “We know that Loveland’s superintendent serves not only our students, parents, and staff but the entire Loveland community.”

Information about access to the Virtual Community Engagement Session will be posted on the Loveland City Schools Board of Education webpage prior to the Tuesday, May 18 meeting.

The Board will meet on Wednesday, May 19 for final interviews, with an announcement about the hiring to follow.
