The usual May start of the Cleves Time Trial season was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic safety restrictions. The email message from Rob Westendorf to Queen City Wheels members signaling the return of the event is welcome news for the cycling racing community. Here is the message from Rob and QCW:

The Cleves Time Trial is back, now in our 47th year! We have had to wait for local permission, and have modified procedures, but our weekly test against the clock has returned. First and foremost, we need to limit the number of riders each week to 20, therefore you must preregister to attend. If we hit 20 riders a wait list will start, and those people will be first in line for the following week.

Due to pent up demand you cannot ride two weeks in a row, so everyone has a chance. There is no fee to ride at Cleves, but your QCW dues must be current. You can renew that HERE. To register for the time trial go to BikeReg. Registration for subsequent weeks will not open until the Wednesday before each week. Again, the Cleves Time Trial is BACK – racing officially begins for the 47th year at Cleves Tuesday, June 9, 2020!
