Signs are up all around the community – they have been for months – Yes, or No, you see them on public grounds and in the yards of homeowners. The Loveland City School District is seeking a $4.9 mill tax levy on the ballot Tuesday, May 2, 2023. It’s anybody’s guess how the vote will turn out, but the fact is the three most recent levy’s placed on the ballot, dating back to the November 2019 $16+ levy, have all failed; including the most recent $4.9 mill levy in November 2022; though it was a very close vote with less than one percent difference. It is also a fact no tax levy has passed for the Loveland City School District (LCSD) since 2014.

Right now there is one more fact from here in the office of Loveland Beacon online news: All “Letters to the Editor” and “Guest Column” submissions regarding the current levy issue have been a YES vote FOR the Loveland School tax levy on the upcoming May 2nd ballot.

Those of us directly involved with publication of the Loveland Beacon have seen no clear evidence to predict a pass or fail this time. We know, the public signs make it very clear, there is both support and opposition to the levy again. We invite those of you in opposition to join in the debate here on Loveland Beacon and make your argument in opposition to the tax levy heard. Send your “Letter to the Editor” or “Guest Column” submission for publication here on LovelandBeacon.com/PEOPLES VOICE.

EDITOR’S OPINION: So far, the letters and guest column submissions received and published have made a sound and compelling argument for a Yes vote Tuesday, May 2, 2023.

What do you say! And Why?

Let the community hear YOUR VOICE in PEOPLE’S VOICE on Loveland Beacon.

EDITOR’S NOTE:  Loveland Beacon is not endorsing opposition of, or support for, the current school tax levy on the ballot May 2, 2023.  PLEASE VOTE Tuesday, May 2, 2023.
