Fun story from U.C. Health about celebrities joining in their celebration of National Hospital Week

CINCINNATI, OH (May 12, 2020) – Every May, UC Health joins in celebrating National Hospital Week, a time to show thanks and appreciation for those who work within our hospitals and health systems.
University of Cincinnati Medical Center (Provided)
This year, as our people and many others work on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic, we invited celebrities, athletes, broadcast journalists, and community leaders across Cincinnati to send messages of hope and support to 12,000+ employees in what we dubbed “Operation Thank You.”
Dozens of people answered that call, including Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden Director Thayne Maynard, members of the Cincinnati Reds, members of Cincinnati City Council, Hamilton County Board of Commissioners, the Ohio legislature and U.S. Congress, Cincinnati Police Chief Eliot K. Isaac, the head coaches of the University of Cincinnati men’s and women’s basketball teams, and many others.
These messages were first shared with employees on Monday and Tuesday, and I’m proud to be able to share some of them with you. Individual messages are also available on UC Health social media accounts and will be shared throughout the week.
Please join in celebrating hospital workers this week.
