By Steve Kovacs (Introduction by Chuck Gibson)

LOVELAND, OH (June 19, 2024) – Steve Kovacs is on a summer sojourn throughout this week of June 17-21, 2024. Not to dismay, Loveland Beacon FEATURE will publish “summer reruns” daily until his return with fresh new FwM FEATURES Monday, June 24th.  Today we welcome summer – just as we did here on this date in 2021 – with thanks to the tilting earth

MIDSUMMER CELEBRATIONS

Midsummer Celebrations in Scandinavia welcome the longest day of the year.

Thanks to the tilt to Earth, there are four seasons in most places.

If it weren’t for that 23.4 degree tilt of the Earth, you would be stuck with the same season essentially.  Life as we know it would have been much different.

Here is Homann’s map of Scanda from 1753.
