FUN WITH MAPS – ISSUE 2023-194 DAILY FEATURE:

LOVELAND, OH (November 30, 2023) – Today’s edition of Fun with Maps celebrates the birthday of the author who created Huck Finn.
Who Wants to be in Cincinnati?
Samuel Clements, aka: Mark Twain, was born on November 30, 1835, in Florida, Missouri, and was raised in nearby Hannibal. He had a sharp mind, great sense of humor, and a great pen creating literary classics we all know.
Several of his well-known novels were significantly influenced by his childhood memories, growing up in a small town on the Mississippi River.
Here are a few quotes from Mark Twain:
- Humor is mankind’s greatest blessing.
- We have the best government money can buy.
- The reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated.
- When the end of the world comes, I want to be in Cincinnati because it’s always 20 years behind the times (though some claim this is not a Twain quote).
