The dust is cleared. The Care Center is ready to serve in their new facility, based on industry best practices, integrating resources under one-roof and with space for partner organizations to deliver programs and services designed to help local families thrive. The Care Center has been serving local families for the past 17 years and this new facility is being built in response to the growth of poverty in local suburban neighborhoods. Specially over the last 10 years poverty has grown over 100% in the Loveland and Milford communities and now over 50% of children living in Goshen are on free and reduced lunch.
The Care Center exists to help local families thrive in life. They fulfill this mission by helping people get back to work, build the basic life skills everyone needs to be successful, and break the cycle of poverty through one-on-one mentoring and coaching relationships. The Care Center’s programming is designed to help under-resourced families acquire the physical, emotional, educational, relational, and spiritual resources needed to overcome barriers. The Care Center partners with various organizations throughout our city to provide programs and services on-site to families living in Northeast Cincinnati. These partners include organizations like Cincinnati Works, The Eve Center, Great Oaks, Life Forward, MomsHope, Roots Staffing, Tried and True Parenting, Wheels and New Life Furniture.
Additional support services will include assisting with “job ready” clothing, haircuts, transportation needs and life skills workshops building essential skills toward finances, tax prep, parenting, computers, cooking, ESL and GED/High School equivalencies. The Care Center will have a bank of computers available for use at no cost when searching or applying for jobs, along with staff members or volunteers to assist attendees with online applications.
RIBBON CUTTING & OPEN HOUSE
The Care Center will be hosting a ribbon cutting and open house to celebrate the opening of their new facility this Thursday, November 12, from 5:00-6:30pm.
