Morgan Coburn and Hayley Hirsch took center stage earning the title OHSAA Tennis Doubles State Champions Saturday, October 19, in Mason. In November, the Indian Hill Board of Education will formally recognize the pair of Indian Hill High School student-athletes for their outstanding accomplishment.

“Morgan and Hayley are special,” said Indian Hill Athletic Director Matt Haskamp. “These student-athletes battled through injuries and adversity this year to play their best tennis when it mattered most. They showed tremendous passion and grit throughout the tournament which led to a dominating run to win the title. We are incredibly excited for what they have achieved.”

It was really special to win this championship with Hayley since we have played together since we were 10,” said State Champion Morgan Coburn. “To be able to play our last match in high school together and having it end with the championship was very rewarding.”

“It was really cool to go out with a win,” said State Champion Hayley Hirsch. “I have reached the semi-finals twice with my sister, but to win on my last chance with Morgan was nice to end on a high note.”

Coburn and Hirsch will be recognized during the Tuesday, November 19 Board of Education meeting at 7 p.m. in the Indian Hill High School Multipurpose Room.
