Ryan Chevalier won 1st place overall for boys varsity, while Lebanon’s Faith Duncan ran away with 1st place for the girls

LOVELAND, OH (October 18, 2020) – Loveland Cross Country coach Steve Nester called it a “tough day” with both Loveland boys & girls cross country teams finishing second in the Eastern Cincinnati Conference Championship meet hosted by Loveland at Home of the Brave Park Saturday

Ryan Chevalier did not disappoint winning 1st place overall in the boys varsity race crossing the finish line in just 15:51.6. The Lebanon team outraced Loveland overall winning the ECC Championship Meet Team title with the Tigers second and Turpin finishing third in the team division.

It was an exact replica final standing for girls varsity team with Lebanon girls varsity team led by overall 1st place winner Faith Duncan (18:20.6) a full :40 seconds ahead of the 2nd place finisher leading the Warriors to the top team spot. Loveland finished second, led by Emmy Sager whose 19:23.9 time was good enough for an overall 6th place finish. Turpin finished third in the team standings.

In the JV boys race, Turpin won the team division led by individual 1st place winner Luke Carter (17:33.6). Alex Salatin finished 2nd just 2 seconds behind Carter (17:35.7) helping lead Loveland to a 2nd place finish in the team division. Lebanon finished third in the JV team division.
There was no JV girls race. Loveland claimed the #1 Ranking in the Boys Open race with a 1-2-3 finish from 1st place finisher Dylan Brown (18:35.7) followed by his Tiger teammates Alex Tew (18:42.2) and Jesse Jenkins (18:44.6). The Tiger runners took 6 of the top 10 finishing spots in the race.

Turpin ranked #2 and Kings ranked #3 in the Boys Open race.
The Loveland girls were not to be outdone by the boys as they completely dominated the top 10 spots in the Girls Open race taking 1-2-3-4 and 6-8-9 for 7 of the top 10 runners at the finish line. Bethany Griffiin won 1st place overall (202.7) with Lauren Gard 2nd, (20;21.9) 3rd was Meghan Tibbs (20:51.50) and 4th was Ella Zicka(20:51.54) – Audrey O’Keefe, Kali Egan, and Bella Dillhoff rounded out the Loveland Girls open top 7 of the top 10 finishers in the race.
MORE CROSS COUNTRY: The Loveland boys and girls cross country teams will continue their run in postseason action at the sectional meet next Saturday hosted by Lakota East High School at Voice of America Park in West Chester.
