Loveland City Schools get back to class

this week

LOVELAND, OH (August 12, 2025) – Summer sure does fly by. It’s back to school time already – even though the 90-degree temperatures and hot humid days say it’s still pool time.

For the Loveland City School District (LCSD)  students return to the classrooms beginning this week with a “staggered start” schedule bringing some of those students back in for their first day Wednesday, August 13, and others on Thursday, August 14 and all students grades 1-12 together in the classrooms Friday, August 15. Welcome back!  Oh yeah, and parents…well some of you no doubt are quite relieved to get the ”kiddies” back into the structured school routine. You know what I mean.

No, LCSD did not forget the kindergarten and pre-school students. Parents should have received more information for them directly from the Loveland Early Childhood Center (LECC). And still there is more information on the return to school for our Loveland students.

Below is the text from LCSD Superintendent Mike Broadwater in the most recent “Tiger Talk” District Newsletter released Sunday, August 10:

Loveland Tiger Families,

Welcome to the 2025-26 school year! We’re excited to open the doors and welcome students back into the buildings later this week. Without students around, we’ve been missing the energy in our buildings – and you might be ready to have some of the energy out of your house!

If you’ve been in our buildings for events like popsicles on the playground or Open House, I hope you’ve noticed the hard work that’s gone into taking care of our buildings and grounds. Our amazing custodial and maintenance staff have been working hard this summer to get everything in great shape for our students and staff.

We have a staggered start again this year. Students in grades 1-12 with last names beginning with A-L will have their first day on Wednesday, August 13. Students with last names beginning with M-Z will have their first day on Thursday, August 14. Everyone will be in class together on Friday, August 15. The staggered start helps us get students settled in, establish routines, and set up technology with smaller groups. If you have a kindergarten student or preschooler, you should have received more information about your schedule directly from Loveland Early Childhood Center.

Thanks to feedback from parents and students, we have new hours for Loveland High School this year. The school day at LHS will begin at 8:15 am and end at 2:50 pm. The new schedule will give our high school students more time to sleep, and get them to school rested and ready to learn.

If you still need school supplies, you can find supply lists on our website at lovelandschools.org/supplies. Please follow this link to complete Final Forms if you have not already done so this year. It’s important for us to have updated emergency contact numbers and the latest information about your student for the start of the year. You can follow this link to our transportation webpage to find information about bus routes (and download the My Ride app to get transportation notifications and track your student’s bus).

I hope you’ve had a chance to relax and enjoy some downtime over the summer. We can’t wait to see your students!
