By Steve Kovacs (Introduction by Chuck Gibson)
LOVELAND, OH (February 27, 2026) – This issue of Fun with Maps takes us down the river and deep into the canyon.
Pokémon
If you have, or are, a child born in the 1990’s or 2000’s, you know all there is to know about Pokémon.
There were Barbies and GI Joes to play with in earlier times.
Pokémon was released on February 27, 1996 on Nintendo’s Gameboy. It became the highest grossing media franchise.
The franchise expanded to playing cards, dolls. They obviously added new characters.
In our house you still can find Pokémon or friends for sure.
Given that Pokémon is Japanese, here is a map of the islands by Trilion from 1769.
