. . . voice of reason and a changed vote

LOVELAND, OH (October 25, 2022) – There comes a point in time when voices of reason and common sense must speak.

For me, that time is now. I have been a supporter of the “Voice” since they originated in 2019. I actively worked to defeat the levy in 2019 doing research and looking into numbers that were sent to me. I voted no on that levy and the following levy in 2020. I felt they asked too much and were bad for the community.
However, after these votes, I also took an active role in trying to help the school district right its ship and move forward. I applied for the open school board seats. I wasn’t selected, but I was offered a position on the planning commission to start the process of change.
Unfortunately, the “Voice” group that I respected and appreciated in 2019 did not choose the same course. Instead of choosing to be a voice of positive change they were taken over by extreme members whose only desire was to block any attempt by the district to rebuild trust and move forward.
Originally, the “Voice” leadership called for a reasonable levy that they could back. Now their loudest voices oppose any attempt to pass a levy and continually sow the seeds of distrust to their members. I cannot support them anymore.
I have seen, and been active in, the district’s attempts to correct its flaws. I have also seen the “new” “Voice” leadership actively oppose this with misstatements, half-truths and outright lies. Their only goal, that I can gather, is to take any step necessary to make the schools fail. The simple truth is, until the State of Ohio changes its funding structure, schools, no matter how much they cut, will be forced to continue to return to voters for additional revenue.
I can’t sit idly by and watch the “Voice” group continue their attempt to dismantle our schools. The good thing is I am not alone. I know many others that supported the “Voice” in the past and have seen the same progression.
They, and I, will be the many former no voters, the former “Voice” supporters, that will support and VOTE YES FOR LOVELAND SCHOOLS in November.
