A day we will never forget
By Chuck Gibson
U.S. A. (September 11, 2021) – On the eve of the 20th Anniversary of September 11, 2001, I remember as we all remember that fateful day in America.

Like all of us more than 20 years old today, I know exactly where I was, what I was doing, and when I heard the first report of a plane crashing into the World Trade Center building in New York City – then another -then the Pentagon – then the plane going down in a field in Pennsylvania. I said right away it was no accident. Eventually, we all knew the reality and felt the terror of being under attack on our homeland.
I cannot possibly write any words here today to better tell the story, or many stories of that day and the days that followed. We hurt. We mourned. And, we, the American People rose up and showed the whole world incredible acts of heroism in the face of true horror. Heroes came to life that day – even as they died in their heroic efforts to save others. Images are etched in our memories. All the stories have been told and retolod it seems. Yet, more stories seem to find their way out of the ashes even today – 20 years after as we pause all across America, in New York City, in Washington D. C. and in that field in Pennsylvania where heroes died to save untold others.

I want to share with you what seems to be an obscure story of heroes among us. How many of you know how the Knights of Columbus organization responded on September 11, 2001 and beyond? They are unsung hereoes and here is their story as told by the people who serve and those they served in a 12 minute video.

May God Bless the heroes and bring comfort to all affected by 9/11/2001.
